When I was nine years old, I founded the Kids Can Help Program after both of my grandmothers were diagnosed with cancer. I saw the changes that cancer made in their lives, but the most important thing was I felt like I couldn't do anything to help them. The more I learned about cancer and saw how it affected patients and families, the more I wanted to get involved. At the time, I thought, "just because I'm a kid it doesn't mean I can't help". I knew other kids would feel the same way. I created a program called Kids Can Help. It's a program where kids can Help kids and we raise money for the oncology department at the BC Children's Hospital. Since 2009, with over 30 members, we have raised $100,000! So far... :)!
